The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice is the initial inspiration for the collection. This was translated into the collection with the mixed use of tough fabrics such as leather contrasted against softer silk satins and organza. The viper snake (being the character who caused Eurydice’s death), has stunningly unique three dimensional scales different to other snakes and this element was a pivotal influence from the start. The colour influence of the viperidae family of snakes, with their bright and vibrant coloured scales, was evident throughout. The collection features a hybrid of modern digital techniques such as laser cutting and CAD embroidery juxtaposed with traditional hand embellishment techniques including weaving and beading.
